Richmond visit?

Quick image-free post: I'm currently in Arlington VA staying with my boyfriend for about a week and a half.  I know that's still about 2 hours from Richmond, but it's as close to Richmond as I'm ever likely to get... so I would like to take a day trip to visit the Academy, and any lovely friends living in Richmond who would like to see me.  I'm thinking one day next week (has to be a weekday). Who's there right now? What's a good day?
